FIBER – Nylon: The predominate fiber in the production of carpet. There are two types; type 6,6 and type 6. Type 6,6 is the nylon fiber used by INVISTA in STAINMASTER carpet and by Monsanto in Wear Dated carpet brand. The microscopic structure of this nylon fiber helps hide soiling, is more color fast, more resilient (wears better) and is easier to clean. We prefer to sell STAINMASTER carpet with type 6,6 nylon because of the superior quality it provides.

Wool: Resilience is the key word with wool. It stays looking good longer than any other fiber. Wool is also naturally cleanable, making it easy to clean soiled areas. Unlike Nylon fiber, wool fiber will actually wear away, yet it continues to look good until that fiber is gone.
